Our focus
Learn how to use art for self-expression
In an art therapy workshop, participants are guided through a journey of using art as a powerful tool for self-expression. Through various artistic mediums like painting, drawing, or sculpting, individuals learn to channel their emotions, thoughts, and experiences into tangible forms. Facilitators provide a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration, encouraging participants to tap into their creativity without constraints. By experimenting with colors, shapes, and textures, participants discover new ways to communicate and express themselves authentically. Through this process, they develop a deeper understanding of their inner world and find liberation in the act of artistic creation, empowering them to use art as a means of self-expression in their daily lives beyond the workshop.
Develop skills and strategies for setting and maintaining healthy boundaries.
Developing skills and strategies for setting and maintaining healthy boundaries impacts an individual's emotional and psychological health. Healthy boundaries are essential for self-respect, mutual respect in relationships, and overall well-being. Through the creative process, art therapy provides a non-verbal, expressive platform for clients to explore and visualize their boundaries. This exploration can lead to a deeper understanding of personal limits and the development of concrete strategies to assert them. By practicing boundary-setting within the therapeutic space, individuals can build confidence and learn to apply these skills in their daily lives. This can result in more balanced relationships, reduced stress, and a stronger sense of autonomy and self-worth. Art therapy, thus, becomes a powerful tool for individuals to gain insights and develop practical techniques for protecting their emotional and mental health through effective boundary management.
Promote relaxation, self-discovery and emotional healing
Through painting, drawing, or sculpting, individuals tap into their innermost thoughts and feelings, gaining insight into their subconscious and fostering self-awareness. This process of self-expression allows participants to release tension, quiet the mind, and cultivate a sense of inner peace. Guided by a trained art therapist in a supportive environment, participants feel validated and understood, fostering a sense of emotional healing and empowerment. By engaging in the transformative power of art, individuals embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth
Better understand the concept of boundaries and its importance
Understanding the concept of boundaries is a critical objective in this art therapy workshop as it fosters emotional and psychological well-being. Boundaries, both physical and emotional, help individuals establish a sense of self, differentiate their needs from others, and maintain healthy relationships. In the therapeutic context, exploring boundaries through art can provide a tangible and expressive means to recognize and communicate personal limits. This process aids in self-discovery and empowers individuals to assert their needs and protect their mental health. Furthermore, art therapy can reveal unconscious boundary issues, offering a safe space to confront and reshape them. This understanding is vital for personal growth, emotional resilience, and improved interpersonal dynamics.

A little bit about me:
I am a bicultural therapist who was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada as an adolescent. I am passionate about supporting and empowering disenfranchised groups. I believe that true healing and growth come from collaboration with ourselves, each other and our environment. In my practice, I consider the multiple intersections that make up the identity of an individual and do my best to welcome them into a shared space of exploration and healing. The principles that guide my practice are built on mutual respect, curiosity and reciprocity.
Areas of Experience:
I have worked with women and children through individual and group therapy. I specifically have worked with women who have been incarcerated, mothers and their children who have experienced domestic violence, and individuals who have been oppressed and have experienced displacement in one or more areas of their lives. My areas of focus include anxiety, boundary and relationship issues, burnout, cognitive degeneration, depression, grief and loss, inner child work, infidelity, intergenerational trauma, life transitions, pain management, perfectionism, self-care, self-esteem and stress management.
Therapeutic Approach:
I work from a person-centered, trauma informed, strengths based approach that integrates art therapy, mindfulness based practices, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Goal Management Training (GMT).
I currently provide services in English to individuals living in Ontario

A little bit about me:
I’m a passionate bilingual French-Canadian art therapist who believes individuals are fundamentally creative and possesses the internal means to self-actualize. I consider arts to be a unique way to get in touch with our self (our true authentic self) and I trust that the agent of healing lies within the artistic process, rather than in the outcome. My professional values are authenticity, respect and collaboration.
Areas of Experience:
My goal as an art therapist is to create a safe and caring space that promotes creativity, well-being, expression and self-knowledge. I accompany individuals experiencing various emotional and relational difficulties, among others related to self-esteem, grief and loss, life transitions, self-care, trauma, stress and anxiety. I also have experience accompanying caregivers living with a family member who has a mental health issue. I have experience working with an adult clientele as well as with children and adolescents.
Therapeutic Approach:
I am a sensitive, open and professional art therapist working from a client-centred, emotions-focused, trauma informed and strengths based approach that integrates mindfulness practices as well as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused therapy (SFT) interventions.
