Audrey-Anne Frenette
(she/her), M.A, CCC
Art therapist (M.A), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and co-founder of Ginkgo Centre for Creative Arts Therapies.
A little bit about me:
I’m a passionate bilingual French-Canadian art therapist who believes that every individual is inherently creative and holds within themselves the capacity for growth and self-actualization. I view art-making and play as powerful and unique ways to connect with our inner world ; our true, authentic self. I believe that healing emerges through the creative process itself, rather than the final product.
My work is grounded in the values of authenticity, respect, and collaboration.
Areas of experience:
As an art therapist, my goal is to offer a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where creativity, self-expression, and personal growth can flourish. I work with teens and adults navigating a range of emotional and relational challenges, including issues related to self-esteem, perfectionism, self-criticism, grief and loss, trauma, stress and anxiety.
I also have experience supporting children and teens who are living with or caring for a family member experiencing mental health issues.
Therapeutic approach:
My practice is built on a client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based foundation, meaning you are always the expert of your own story and we move at a pace that feels safe for you. I integrate Art Therapy with Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to give you a beautiful balance of creative emotional expression and practical, real-world coping tools. Because our relationships shape so much of who we are, I use an Attachment-Focused and Emotions-Focused lens to help you gently explore your relational patterns, heal past hurts, and build a deeper, more secure connection with yourself and others.
