A little bit about me:

I am a bicultural therapist who was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada as an adolescent. I am passionate about supporting and empowering disenfranchised groups. I believe that true healing and growth come from collaboration with ourselves, each other and our environment. In my practice, I consider the multiple intersections that make up the identity of an individual and do my best to welcome them into a shared space of exploration and healing. The principles that guide my practice are built on mutual respect, curiosity and reciprocity.

Areas of experience:

I have worked with women and children through individual and group therapy. I specifically have worked with women who have been incarcerated, mothers and their children who have experienced domestic violence, and individuals who have been oppressed and have experienced displacement in one or more areas of their lives.

My areas of focus include anxiety, boundary and relationship issues, burnout, cognitive degeneration, depression, grief and loss, inner child work, infidelity, intergenerational trauma, life transitions, pain management, perfectionism, self-care, self-esteem and stress management.

Therapeutic approach:

My approach spans various modalities, integrating art therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy. In my work, these modalities are always deliviered within a trauma-informed, person-centered framework.
