Our focus
Learn how to use art for self-expression
In an art therapy workshop, participants are guided through a journey of using art as a powerful tool for self-expression. Through various artistic mediums like painting, drawing, or sculpting, individuals learn to channel their emotions, thoughts, and experiences into tangible forms. Facilitators provide a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration, encouraging participants to tap into their creativity without constraints. By experimenting with colors, shapes, and textures, participants discover new ways to communicate and express themselves authentically. Through this process, they develop a deeper understanding of their inner world and find liberation in the act of artistic creation, empowering them to use art as a means of self-expression in their daily lives beyond the workshop.
Practice self-acceptance & compassion
Through the act of creating art, individuals are encouraged to embrace their unique perspectives and experiences without judgment. As they explore their inner world through various artistic mediums, they develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves. Facilitators provide a supportive environment where participants can express themselves freely, fostering a sense of validation and empathy. Through this process, individuals learn to extend compassion towards themselves, recognizing their inherent worth and embracing their imperfections with kindness. As they witness their creations unfold, participants cultivate a sense of self-acceptance that permeates beyond the workshop, enriching their lives with newfound love and understanding.
Promote relaxation, self-discovery and emotional healing
Through painting, drawing, or sculpting, individuals tap into their innermost thoughts and feelings, gaining insight into their subconscious and fostering self-awareness. This process of self-expression allows participants to release tension, quiet the mind, and cultivate a sense of inner peace. Guided by a trained art therapist in a supportive environment, participants feel validated and understood, fostering a sense of emotional healing and empowerment. By engaging in the transformative power of art, individuals embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth
Build a self-care practice
An art therapy workshop offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore and discover new ways of taking care of themselves. Through the creative process, individuals can experiment with different forms of expression and self-care activities, allowing them to uncover techniques that resonate with their unique needs and preferences. Whether it’s through painting, drawing, or collage, participants can tap into their creativity to find novel ways of coping with stress, managing emotions, and nurturing their well-being. Guided by supportive facilitators, participants are encouraged to think outside the box and embrace new possibilities, empowering them to cultivate a personalized self-care routine that feels authentic and sustainable.
What to expect
Through expressive art techniques such as painting, drawing, and collage, you’ll embark on a journey of reflection and renewal. Discover how art can be a powerful tool for self-expression and self-awareness as you delve into themes of compassion, resilience, and personal growth.
As this workshop will be held virtually, we invite you to take anything you have on end that appears creative and inspiring to you.
Here are some ideas we can provide: paint, pastels, crayons, clay, collared pencils, markers, old magazines (collage), yarn, natural elements (branches, leaves, rocks).
In this supportive environment, there’s no need for artistic experience – just an openness to explore and a willingness to connect with yourself on a deeper level. Join us for an enriching experience that nourishes your mind, body, and soul.

Art therapist (M.A), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and co-founder of Ginkgo
A little bit about me:
I’m a passionate bilingual French-Canadian art therapist who believes individuals are fundamentally creative and possesses the internal means to self-actualize. I consider arts to be a unique way to get in touch with our self (our true authentic self) and I trust that the agent of healing lies within the artistic process, rather than in the outcome. My professional values are authenticity, respect and collaboration.
Areas of Experience:
My goal as an art therapist is to create a safe and caring space that promotes creativity, well-being, expression and self-knowledge. I accompany individuals experiencing various emotional and relational difficulties, among others related to self-esteem, grief and loss, life transitions, self-care, trauma, stress and anxiety. I also have experience accompanying caregivers living with a family member who has a mental health issue. I have experience working with an adult clientele as well as with children and adolescents.
Therapeutic Approach:
I am a sensitive, open and professional art therapist working from a client-centred, emotions-focused, trauma informed and strengths based approach that integrates mindfulness practices as well as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused therapy (SFT) interventions.
I currently provide services in English and French to individuals living in Ontario
