A group for youth ages 13-17, 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and/or neurodivergent individuals.
Underneath my Mask is a one shot drama therapy workshop geared towards marginalized youth aged 13-17. This workshop aims to explore identity through mask making, character creation, and movement. Absolutely no prior theatre experience needed!
Growing up can feel isolating, anxiety provoking, confusing, and sometimes scary. What if we could create a version of ourselves that isn’t bound by reality, society, and oppressive systems? By exploring parts of yourself through mask making, you can unlock parts of yourself that may be hidden, reconnect with parts that feel more distant, or explore new parts that feel right. The power truly lies within sharing your mask with others who have similar lived experiences. Express yourself, be seen, and be appreciated for who you are!
This workshop is a confidential, non-judgment, therapeutic and authentic space to further explore your self-identity, engage in meaningful play, and build social belonging.
Theme: Identity exploration - Self-expression through mask work
